Mumbai, Sep 6 (NationPress) Actress Shilpa Shetty and her entrepreneur husband Raj Kundra hosted a Sukhmani Sahib Paath at their residence to invoke blessings for the success of Kundra's newly launched Punjabi drama "Mehar".

The couple also offered prayers for those impacted by the severe floods in Punjab.

Kundra shared a video on his official Instagram account showcasing the religious event at their home. Shilpa donned a pink salwar suit, while Raj chose a blush-pink kurta pajama.

"Sukhmani Sahib Paath at home kept by my wife @theshilpashetty, praying for the success of Mehar and, more importantly, for the strength and well-being of our brothers and sisters in Punjab. In these times when Punjab faces the pain of floods, we hold on to faith and prayer. May Waheguru bless everyone with courage, healing, and hope. Cinema can entertain, but for me, it is also about the sewa. Together, let’s make prayers turn into action," Kundra wrote in the caption of the clip.

On Friday, Shilpa received her first-ever autograph from her husband, whom she affectionately calls her 'forever hero', as “Mehar” finally premiered.

In a video on her Instagram, Shilpa featured herself, Kundra, and their son, Viaan, at a theatre where she excitedly got an autograph from Raj on a piece of tissue.

She humorously remarked, “First autograph. Abhi tak cheque par leti thi main.”

Kundra read aloud the message he wrote for Shilpa, saying, “Raj loves you only.”

“My first autograph from my forever Hero. Wishing you all the best for your foray into the Punjabi film industry. I’m beyond proud of you and your honest performance in Mehar. May this film bring you huge success," she added in the post caption.
