Mumbai, July 10 (NationPress) Singer Shilpa Rao, who lent her voice to the female rendition of “Barbaad” in the upcoming film “Saiyaara”, expressed that music has always been about forging a connection with people’s emotions.
“For me, music has always revolved around connecting with the emotions of others,” the artist remarked.
She elaborated that “Barbaad” is a song steeped in heartbreak, and performing the female version allowed her to delve into a unique emotional landscape.
“I’ve received numerous messages from listeners who say they feel moved by the song, experiencing heartbreak through it—even if they haven’t faced such situations themselves. That kind of feedback is invaluable to me,” she noted.
Returning to work with YRF and Mohit Suri felt like a homecoming for Shilpa: “Collaborating with them again feels like returning home. I’ve enjoyed a creative synergy with them from our previous projects, and being back in that space was profoundly satisfying.”
