Mumbai, Jan 19 (NationPress) Like many others on social media today, actress Shilpa Shetty took a moment to reflect on her poignant memories from the year 2016.
As she journeyed through her past, Shilpa remembered the heart-wrenching farewell to her father, Surendra Shetty, who left this world in 2016.
Yet, that same year was also significant for Shilpa as she achieved several of her professional aspirations.
While reminiscing, Shilpa shared on her official Instagram, "2016: a stroll down memory lane... So many highs, so many lows... witnessed a dream materialize with my book, celebrated milestones, and endured a painful goodbye to Daddy. But C'est la vie... keep creating memories, for that’s all our souls carry with them (sic)."
On December 22 of the previous year, Shilpa lovingly commemorated her late father on his birth anniversary.
She shared cherished memories with him on Instagram, writing, "Cheers to 85, Dad! I hope you are enjoying your single malt up there."
Earlier, on October 11, Shilpa expressed her emotions on her father's 9th death anniversary.
Posting a nostalgic childhood photo with him on social media, she wrote, "Miss your smile... Miss YOU Daddy (Red heart emoji) 9 years today (folded hands emoji)."
The image showed a young Shilpa being joyfully tickled by her father, showcasing her radiant smile.
For those unfamiliar, Shilpa's father passed away on October 11, 2016, at their home in Versova due to a cardiac arrest. Despite prompt medical attention at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, he was declared dead by the doctors.
On the work front, Shilpa is set to appear in the film "KD: The Devil".
Directed by Prem, the movie features Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, along with Sanjay Dutt, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Jisshu Sengupta, and Nora Fatehi as part of the supporting cast.
