Mumbai, Aug 12 (NationPress) Sagar World Multimedia and Select Media's mythological drama, “Kaamdhenu Gaumata” debuted on Star Bharat on August 11.
The series explores the journey of Kamdhenu, an emblem of compassion, prosperity, and divinity, tracing her path through time—from her creation during the “Samudra Manthan” to her significance in the lives of sages, deities, monarchs, and humanity.
Renowned storyteller Shri Prem Sagar, son of the iconic Ramanand Sagar, has lent his expertise to the project, with his son, Shiv Sagar, serving as the creative director and producer.
Reflecting on his family's tradition of crafting extraordinary mythological narratives, Shiv expressed: “Continuing the 74-year legacy of Film and Television initiated by my grandfather, Late Dr. Ramanand Sagar ji, Sagar World stands at the intersection of advanced technology, like AI, combined with thorough research on epics, and the devotional approach of 'Sagar' storytelling, enriched with Music, Dohas, and Chaupais, which evoke a euphoric experience for viewers.”
He pointed out the growing interest among younger audiences in spirituality and ancient Indian customs, as they seek narratives beyond the traditional Ramayan and Mahabharat.
“There are still many untapped subjects we are gradually unveiling from our treasure, one of which is Kaamdhenu Gaumata. We are grateful to Select Media and Star Bharat for this opportunity,” he added.
Shiv emphasized that a cow is not just an animal but an emotion in Bharat, where cows are profoundly integrated and revered as mothers in the daily lives of Indians.
“We cannot imagine life without them. Have you ever wondered where the first cow came from? Did you know that cows have extensive lineages or Gotras that trace back thousands of years? Our country is home to numerous indigenous cow species, each linked to tales involving Rishis and Gods. Through this series, we aim to promote awareness regarding Gau-mata, their welfare, and protection,” he concluded.
The cast includes Harleen Kaur Rekhi as Gaumata, Sandeep Mohan as Sage Vashisth, and Sugandha Srivastava as Mata Arundhati.
