Mumbai, Oct 31 (NationPress) Actress Shraddha Das asserts that the film industry has transitioned away from the conventional notion of grand production launches.

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, she emphasized that modern actors need to depend on their talent, consistency, and self-initiated opportunities instead of awaiting a spectacular debut to establish themselves. When questioned about her approach to achieving lasting success in a notoriously unpredictable industry, Shraddha stated that she adheres to diligent effort and unwavering self-confidence.

“Consistency is key. I’ve been engaged in a variety of roles—big, small, songs, and supporting characters. This is the only path for someone from outside the industry. The time of waiting for a grand launch by a major production is over. You must continually accept worthwhile projects, maintain visibility, and focus on self-improvement. Ultimately, you will reach your goals,” she explained.

When discussing the criteria she considers before committing to a project, Das mentioned that multiple factors significantly influence her decisions. For her, the director is the most critical element, followed by the production company, co-stars, and the script's strength.

“Many aspects are important to me. First, the director—this is crucial. Then comes the production house, the actors, and, of course, the script. I ask myself—does the script captivate me? Am I fully engaged while reading it, or does my attention drift? I also evaluate the impact of my character—does it contribute meaningfully to the story, even if it's a minor role? That has always been my priority. I must admit, I also pay attention to the visual presentation of the project. (laughs)”

Shraddha Das is grateful that her latest web series, “Search: The Naina Murder Case,” has propelled her to the top spot on IMDb’s list of Popular Indian Celebrities. Reflecting on this achievement, she shared, “The journey has been incredibly organic and natural. Initially, I was around fourteen hundred, then climbed to eighty-two with Khaki. After the release of Naina Murda, the ascent was swift—fifteenth in the first week, fourth in the second, and finally securing the top position this week.”

“I don’t have a PR team or any personal ties with IMDb, so it was genuinely surprising and overwhelming to witness such a significant leap. It made me realize that audiences genuinely appreciated my character, and I felt profoundly thankful for that.”

Shraddha is recognized for her performances in films such as “Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji,” “Zid,” “Sanam Teri Kasam,” “Hosa Prema Purana,” and “Dracula 2012.”
