Mumbai, Dec 5 (NationPress) Celebrated vocalist Shreya Ghoshal reflected on one of her most cherished moments as she recalled her encounter with the late iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar, whom she described as a “goddess in a white saree”.
Shreya shared her sentiments on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for having met the legendary artist. She also posted a picture of herself alongside Lata Mangeshkar, lovingly referred to as the “Queen of Melody”.
“Reflecting on the time I was honored to meet Lata didi. Goddess in white saree is how I remember her fondly,” Shreya captioned the post.
Lata Mangeshkar recorded songs in over thirty-six Indian languages, along with a few foreign ones, mainly in Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. Throughout her illustrious career, she accumulated numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989, the Bharat Ratna in 2001, and three National Film Awards.
She was even recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most recorded artist in history until her sister, Asha Bhosle, surpassed that record.
Sadly, Lata Mangeshkar passed away due to multiple organ dysfunction syndrome on February 6, 2022, at the age of 92, after undergoing 28 days of treatment for pneumonia and Covid.
