Mumbai, April 12 (NationPress) In a recent interview with IANS, acclaimed television star Shubhangi Atre expressed her stance on the Women's Reservation Bill, stating that she has reservations about the concept of reservations themselves.

The actress, widely recognized for her role in 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!', articulated her belief that achievements should stem from merit rather than being based on gender.

She emphasized that women are equal to men in every way.

Shubhangi remarked, "There are two perspectives to consider here. Firstly, I find it puzzling why there are fewer women in politics. I follow the news but cannot pinpoint the reasons behind this disparity. While it's encouraging to see more women entering the political arena, I still have concerns regarding the need for reservations. I truly believe that any individual should attain success based on their merit rather than gender. We are equally capable as men."

Drawing from her upbringing, Shubhangi revealed that her father always instilled in her and her sisters the belief that they could accomplish anything a man can.

"As sisters, we have always been told by our father that there is nothing a man can do that we cannot. Thus, I question the necessity of reservations for women. We are creators, entrusted by nature with the profound duty of bringing forth new life. Therefore, reservations are unnecessary," she stated.

Reinforcing her point, she concluded, "Women are inherently strong. We possess emotional resilience and excel in crisis management."

Shubhangi Atre is celebrated for her character Angoori Bhabhi on the immensely popular show 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!'.
