Signal @ 11.30 release date: Santhosh Prathap film set for Oct 30
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Tamil romantic thriller Signal @ 11.30, directed by Malarvizhi Natesan and featuring Santhosh Prathap and Bhavya Trikha in the lead roles, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on 30 October 2025. Produced under the Alar Studios banner, the film had previously been eyed for a 18 September opening before the date was revised.
The Story Behind the Film
Director Malarvizhi Natesan, who runs her own school and came to filmmaking driven by a personal passion, has revealed that the spark for Signal @ 11.30 struck her during a late-night drive. Stopping at a traffic signal around 11.30 pm, an idea took hold that eventually became the film's central premise. The production was completed in a tight 35 days of shooting, according to the director and producer.
Natesan has kept plot details deliberately guarded. 'An incident that occurs at 11.30 heralds a change in an individual's life. You will have to wait and watch the movie to know what the incident was and how it impacted the individual and those around him/her,' she said.
Cast and Key Roles
Alongside Santhosh Prathap and Bhavya Trikha, actress Poojitha Ponnada plays a significant role. Veteran actors Jayaprakash and Munishkanth appear in pivotal parts, lending the film an experienced ensemble.
Technical Crew
The film's technical lineup is among its strongest talking points. Music is composed by National Award winner D Imman, whose work spans some of Tamil cinema's biggest productions. Cinematography is handled by Raja Bhattacharjee, and editing is by R Kalaivanan, who recently claimed the National Award for Best Editor for his work on the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Amaran. Choreography is by Sherif.
What to Watch For
The film is produced by Malarvizhi Natesan and her daughter Dr Shivani Subramani under Alar Studios. With a National Award-winning composer and an equally decorated editor on board, Signal @ 11.30 arrives with considerable technical credibility for a debut directorial venture. All eyes are now on whether its mystery-laden premise translates on screen when it opens worldwide on 30 October.
