Did Smriti Irani Pray on the First Sawan Somvar Before Her Show's Comeback?

Mumbai, July 14 (NationPress) On the auspicious occasion of the first Shravan Somvaar, politician-actress Smriti Irani paid her respects to Lord Shiva.

She took to Instagram to share a captivating image of herself offering curd and flowers on a Shivling. In her post, she expressed in Hindi, “Namaste Astu Lord Vishweshwaray Mahadevai Tripurantakaya. Sending my best wishes to everyone on the first Monday of the Shravan month, dedicated to Lord Shiva. May we all be blessed with devotion, strength, and prosperity through the grace of Bholenath. Har Har Mahadev!

In anticipation of her show “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2,” Smriti offered her prayers during the initial Shravan Somvaar. She shared an image of the Shivling along with heartfelt wishes for everyone.

Known as Sawan Maas, Shravan is among the most revered months in the Hindu calendar. During this time, devotees worship Lord Shiva and frequently observe fasts, called Shravan Somwar or Sawan Somwar Vrats, on each Monday of the month. The first Monday of this sacred month occurred on July 14.

Meanwhile, Smriti Irani is preparing to step back into the iconic role of Tulsi Virani after 25 years in “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.” The series will also feature Amar Upadhyay as Mihir Virani, along with Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Kamalika Guha Thakurta, Shagun Sharma, Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, Ankit Bhatia, and Tanisha Mehta.

In a detailed Instagram message, producer Ekta Kapoor previously shared her initial reluctance to revive her iconic series. She stated, “Why Kyunki, why now? As the 25th anniversary of ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ approached, the idea of a revival sparked, and my first reaction was a definite no! Why disrupt nostalgia? It remains unmatched. My childhood memories will always differ.”

“Additionally, the television landscape has transformed. Once reliant on nine cities, viewers now consume content across various platforms. Would this affect the legacy of Kyunki, a show with unparalleled TRP ratings?”

Kapoor continued, “But was that the true legacy of the show? Was it merely high numbers? Research from an international organization revealed that the show empowered women within Indian households. Between 2000 and 2005, women began to engage in family discussions, a change significantly influenced by Indian television, particularly Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.

“Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2” is set to premiere on July 29 on Star Plus.
