Mumbai, Feb 7 (NationPress) Actor Sonu Sood has addressed the recent claims regarding an arrest warrant against him related to a fraud case.

The actor took to social media to dispel the rumors, describing the news as “overly dramatized” and stressing that the situation is being exaggerated.

Sonu tweeted, “It is essential to clarify that the information spreading on social media is overly dramatized. To set the record straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court regarding an issue involving a third party with which we have no connection.”

The 'Fateh' actor further added, “Our legal team has responded, and we will provide a statement on 10th February 2025 that will clarify our lack of involvement in this matter. We are not brand ambassadors nor do we have any association. This is merely an attempt to gain unnecessary media attention. It’s unfortunate that celebrities often become easy targets. We will pursue strict action regarding this issue.”

Sonu Sood’s remarks followed reports that a court in Ludhiana had issued an arrest warrant against him concerning an alleged fraud case. The warrant was released by judicial magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur. The 51-year-old actor was reportedly called to testify but failed to show up for the court proceedings, prompting the magistrate to issue the arrest warrant.

The court order states, “Sonu Sood has been duly served with summons or warrants but has failed to attend, evading service intentionally. You are hereby ordered to arrest and present the said Sonu Sood before the Court.”

On the professional front, Sonu was last seen in the action thriller “Fateh,” which marked his directorial debut. The film also featured Jacqueline Fernandez, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vijay Raaz.
