Mumbai, Feb 27 (NationPress) The renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli finds himself embroiled in a significant scandal after serious claims made by Uppalapati Srinivasa Rao, who asserts that he has been a close friend of the director for decades.
In a letter sent to the Mettuguda police, Rao revealed that his relationship with Rajamouli has spanned back to 1990, accusing him of ruining his life and inflicting considerable emotional pain. He alleged that their discord arose from a love triangle. Rao recorded a video and submitted it to the Mettuguda police station.
In the now widely circulated video, he claims that Rajamouli is the cause of his suicide.
Rao, who served as the executive producer on Rajamouli's film Yamadonga, declared, “The top directors in India, SS Rajamouli and Rama Rajamouli, are the reason for my decision to take my own life. You may think this is a publicity stunt, but this is my final communication. Many in the industry, including MM Keeravaani, Chandrasekhar Yeleti, and Hanu Raghavapudi, can attest to my long-standing friendship with Rajamouli. I never imagined that a woman could come between us. I see no other way out but to end my life. Rajamouli is the reason I remain single at 55. We collaborated until Yamadonga, but he destroyed my career for a woman.”
“He insisted that I give up my love for her, and although I initially resisted, I eventually complied. He believed I had confided in others about this, leading him to commence tormenting me after a disagreement,” he alleged.
Rao also accused the Baahubali director of practicing black magic and undermining fellow filmmakers. He claimed Rajamouli employed unethical means to uphold his dominance in the film industry, though he provided no supporting evidence for these allegations. Rao stressed that he was not seeking fame, but had reached a profound emotional low.
As of now, SS Rajamouli has not publicly responded to these serious claims.
