Amaravati, March 28 (NationPress) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has reacted strongly to MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao's ultimatum directed at the party leadership, where he demanded action against a fellow party leader.

The contentious MLA, representing the Tiruvuru Assembly constituency in the NTR district, warned that he would resign from the party if the leadership did not take action against local leader Ramesh Reddy within two days.

The TDP had previously issued warnings to the MLA regarding his conduct and now seeks a report from the MP, district party president, and coordinator concerning the events that unfolded in Tiruvuru over the past ten months.

The leadership of TDP is frustrated with the MLA for failing to comply with previous warnings. He had been instructed to collaborate with all party leaders and refrain from publicly expressing his opinions.

Kolikapudi's call for action against Ramesh Reddy stems from complaints he received from several tribal individuals alleging that Reddy made inappropriate comments towards a tribal woman who approached him regarding a loan matter.

The MLA accused Ramesh Reddy of being protected by the office of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni.

Since his election to the Assembly in June of last year, Kolikapudi has been embroiled in numerous controversies.

Earlier this year, in January, he was summoned by the TDP disciplinary committee to explain his actions, following an incident where a woman attempted suicide due to distress over his conduct.

Party president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has taken a serious view of the MLA’s actions and insisted he change his behavior. However, as there was no improvement, he was called before the disciplinary committee.

Additionally, the MLA has been accused of involving himself in a family dispute among brothers in Gopalapuram village within his constituency, where he reportedly verbally abused and attacked a woman supporting the opposition YSR Congress party.
