Amaravati, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, who has been embroiled in several controversies, appeared before the party's disciplinary committee here on Monday.

The MLA from Tiruvuru in NTR district presented his explanation to the committee, which included prominent figures such as senior leader and state government advisor M.A. Sharif, Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy, politburo member Varla Ramaiah, MLC P. Anuradha, and Road Transport Corporation (RTC) chairman K. Narayana.

Since his election in June of the previous year, Srinivasa Rao has been at the center of multiple issues. TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed serious concerns regarding his conduct.

The MLA is currently facing backlash from TDP leadership due to an incident on January 11, where a woman, distressed by the MLA’s conduct, attempted to take her own life.

The party leadership had previously cautioned Srinivasa Rao to amend his behavior. However, due to his continued conduct, he was called before the disciplinary committee.

Previously, Chief Minister Naidu had summoned the MLA to advise a change in his demeanor. He was also called before the coordination committee, which is chaired by party state president Palla Srinivasa Rao.

The MLA is reportedly involved in a family conflict among brothers in Gopalapuram village of A. Konduru mandal within the Tiruvuru Assembly constituency. Allegations have surfaced that he verbally abused and physically attacked a woman, who is a supporter of the opposition YSR Congress Party. This led to the woman attempting suicide by ingesting poison.

Srinivasa Rao intervened in a dispute among three tribal brothers concerning the usage of a newly constructed cement road. One brother is aligned with the YSRCP, while the other two are thought to be TDP supporters.

After alleging that the MLA had assaulted a woman from their family, her relatives organized a protest.

In the past, the MLA found himself in another scandal when a group of women from Chittela village staged a dharna, accusing him of being disrespectful towards self-help group members and other women.

A journalist also filed a complaint with the Chief Minister, expressing concerns about the MLA's treatment of the media.

In October of the previous year, he made inflammatory comments regarding farmers during a meeting, accusing them of not supporting him and controversially remarking that even dogs possess loyalty.
