Amaravati, March 15 (NationPress) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has expressed significant concern regarding party MP Putta Mahesh Kumar Yadav, who was apprehended for drug possession in Hyderabad. The party has mandated that he refrain from participating in any party-related activities.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and TDP national president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, reacted strongly to the situation where the MP reportedly tested positive for drugs after a police raid at a gathering held at the residence of former BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy in Moinabad near Hyderabad last Saturday night.

Following Naidu's orders, Palla Srinivasa Rao, the TDP's Andhra Pradesh unit president, has formally notified the MP from Eluru, requesting a written response concerning the allegations within five days.

Srinivasa Rao conveyed to the MP that the leadership is taking the claims of drug use at the Moinabad farmhouse on March 14 and the extensive media coverage of the incident very seriously. The party is concerned that these events could severely damage its reputation.

The TDP state chief instructed Putta Mahesh to provide a comprehensive explanation regarding the matter. He has also been advised to avoid all party engagements until a thorough report is submitted.

Srinivasa Rao emphasized the importance of a written explanation within five days, stating that the party's actions would depend on the content of his response.

In communication with TDP sources, it was made clear by the party chief that such behavior from any leader would not be tolerated. Chandrababu Naidu asserted that the party should not bear the consequences of individual mistakes.

Putta Mahesh and Rohit Reddy were among six individuals who tested positive for drugs, according to Telangana's Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), which executed the raid based on reliable information.

A total of 11 individuals, including one woman, were present at the party.

A case has been filed at the Moinabad Police Station under various sections of the NDPS Act, as well as the Arms Act and Telangana State Excise Act.

Putta Mahesh was reportedly granted station bail on Sunday, while the other suspects were brought before a magistrate.
