Amaravati, March 15 (NationPress) MP Putta Mahesh Kumar of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has refuted claims that he used drugs at a farmhouse party in Moinabad, located near Hyderabad.

Following his release on station bail, the Eluru MP issued a video statement asserting his innocence.

He stated that his visit was merely to enjoy dinner with friends and urged the public not to fall for sensationalized media narratives.

Mahesh Kumar emphasized he has no negative habits, insisting that the constituents are familiar with his character. He vowed to uphold the trust placed in him by both the public and his party.

He pledged his full cooperation with the ongoing investigation and asserted he would soon clarify the complete truth to the public.

Putta Mahesh Kumar, along with former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Rohit Reddy and nine others, were apprehended by Telangana’s Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) during a raid on Rohit Reddy’s farmhouse on Saturday night.

Police reports reveal that five individuals, including Rohit Reddy, tested positive for drugs during a urine analysis conducted on all attendees. Subsequently, Putta Mahesh also tested positive in a blood examination.

Individuals who tested positive include Rohit Reddy, Putta Mahesh Kumar, Namith Sharma, Ritesh Reddy, Koushik Ravi, and Tiruveedula Arjun Reddy.

After receiving notices from the police, Putta Mahesh and seven others were released on station bail.

Rohit Reddy, alongside his brother Ritesh Reddy and businessman Namith Sharma—who allegedly fired a revolver during the police raid—were presented before a magistrate on Sunday night.

A case has been lodged at Moinabad Police Station under various sections of the NDPS Act, Arms Act, and Telangana State Excise Act.
