Hyderabad, March 15 (NationPress) In a significant development, former BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy along with two other individuals has been placed under judicial custody for a period of 14 days in connection with the Moinabad farmhouse drugs investigation.

Authorities presented Rohit Reddy, his sibling Ritesh Reddy, and businessman Namith Sharma from Delhi before a magistrate at Upperpally late on Sunday night. Following arguments from both sides, the magistrate issued a remand order for the accused.

This action follows a raid executed by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force at Rohit Reddy's farmhouse in Moinabad, located near Hyderabad, conducted roughly 24 hours earlier.

During the operation, eleven individuals—including a woman—were taken into custody, with six of them, including Rohit Reddy and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, testing positive for illegal substances.

MP Mahesh Kumar, representing Eluru in Andhra Pradesh, and seven other individuals were subsequently released on station bail after police notifications were issued.

However, Rohit Reddy and the two others were presented to the magistrate. As per police reports, Namith Sharma reportedly discharged a revolver during the raid, with the licensed firearm registered to Ritesh Reddy.

The EAGLE Force stated that the raid was prompted by intelligence indicating that numerous individuals had congregated at the farmhouse to partake in celebrations involving narcotics, psychotropic substances, and a substantial quantity of alcohol.

During the search, a .32 caliber revolver (manufactured in Germany), along with both live and spent cartridges, was confiscated from Namith Sharma. Another accused, Silveri Sharath Kumar, was found in possession of empty cartridge casings.

Cocaine weighing 0.26 grams was also retrieved from Sharath Kumar, who purportedly admitted to obtaining the drug from Kaushik Ravi.

Additionally, large amounts of alcoholic beverages—including beer, whisky, vodka, and other premium spirits—were seized from the farmhouse.

A case has been filed at the Moinabad Police Station under various sections of the NDPS Act; Sections of the Arms Act; the Telangana State Excise Act; and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
