Hyderabad, March 15 (NationPress) Putta Mahesh Kumar Yadav, the TDP MP representing Andhra Pradesh, was among six individuals detained after testing positive for drugs during a police operation at a farmhouse in Moinabad near Hyderabad on Saturday night. He was granted bail on Sunday.

The Eluru MP from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) received station bail. Sources indicate he was released after being presented with a notice due to the ongoing session of Parliament.

Former MLA of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Panjugula Rohith Reddy, known as Pilot Rohit Reddy, along with other suspects are currently being brought before a magistrate.

A total of eleven people were located at the farmhouse party owned by Rohit Reddy, who previously served as the MLA from the Tandur constituency.

The Cyberabad Narcotics Police Station, part of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force, collaborated with Moinabad police and Special Operations Teams (SOTs) from Shamshabad and Chevella to carry out the raid. This operation was initiated based on intelligence that indicated a gathering of several individuals who were reportedly celebrating with narcotic and psychotropic substances, as well as a significant amount of alcohol.

The EAGLE Force reported that during the raid, their team surrounded the farmhouse and discovered 11 individuals, including a woman, engaged in consuming alcohol and suspected narcotic substances.

Upon announcing a search, a gunshot was heard from within the farmhouse aimed at the police. The officers warned the occupants to cease such actions. The police team promptly entered the premises and secured the area, apprehending all individuals present.

One individual was found with a revolver and was taken into custody along with the firearm. Another was found with empty cartridge cases. The suspects were identified as Namith Sharma, who held the weapon, and Silveri Sharath Kumar, who had the empty cartridges.

A .32 caliber German-made revolver, along with live and empty cartridges, was confiscated. Gunshot residue (GSR) samples were collected from the suspects for forensic analysis.

During the search, 0.26 grams of cocaine was recovered from Sharath Kumar, who admitted to acquiring the drug through Kaushik Ravi. Urine drug tests were carried out on the 11 individuals, revealing that five tested positive for drug use. Moreover, a large volume of liquor, including beer, whisky, vodka, and other premium brands, was seized from the farmhouse.

EAGLE Superintendent of Police R. Giridhar informed media representatives that MP Mahesh Yadav tested negative in the urine test but positive in the blood analysis.

The six individuals who tested positive include Rohit Reddy, former MLA; Putta Mahesh Kumar, MP; Namith Sharma, a businessman from Delhi; Panjugula Ritesh Reddy, a businessman and brother of Rohit Reddy; Koushik Ravi, an advocate from Bengaluru; and Tiruveedula Arjun Reddy, a businessman from Hyderabad.

Other accused parties are Nallapaneni Vijaya Krishna, a businessman from Hyderabad; Varamachaneni Sravan Kumar, a private employee from Hyderabad; Moravineni Ramesh, a businessman from Hyderabad; Priyanka; and Sharath Kumar, a driver.

A case has been registered at Moinabad Police Station under various sections of the NDPS Act, the Arms Act, the Telangana State Excise Act, and other relevant sections of law.
