Mumbai, Feb 18 (NationPress) In a significant development, Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts Ltd. has partnered with Green Gold Animation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create animated films and shows. Ghai expressed his belief that the fusion of animation, gaming, and AI will lead to a billion-dollar industry in the near future.
He emphasized that this combination will serve as a medium to narrate stories from our homeland.
During an exclusive interview with IANS, the acclaimed director of 'Taal' remarked, "Currently, the buzz around AI is overwhelming, while animation seems to take a backseat, similar to gaming. However, the synergy of these three elements is poised to develop into a colossal industry that surpasses your imagination. It will undoubtedly be a billion-dollar industry, specifically in India. Our nation is rich in talent, content, and technical expertise. The only difference is that our Indian narratives will now be expressed through gaming and animation, with AI as a supportive force."
When queried about whether India could replicate Hollywood's animation standards, Ghai responded by noting that comparing India, which is just over 70 years old, to the U.S. is not fair.
He reiterated that the technological advancements in India over the past two decades have been remarkable.
"As a nation just 70 years old, we are relatively young. It takes time to develop; we are still overcoming poverty. When you consider the transformation India has undergone in the last 20-25 years, the global landscape has shifted dramatically. Only Indians can redefine the world, but we still have a long way to go. There are people who are 70 years old, and they have witnessed this evolution," he remarked.
As part of the MOU, Mukta Arts and Green Gold Animation will collaborate on multiple animated intellectual properties inspired by iconic films from Mukta Arts' esteemed collection, including titles such as "Kalicharan", "Karz", "Hero", "Karma", "Ram Lakhan", "Khalnayak", "Saudagar", and "Iqbal".
