Chennai, Aug 14 (NationPress) Actress Sunaina, known for captivating audiences with her performances in several acclaimed Tamil films, including director Seenu Ramasamy's 'Neerparavai', recently shared a sincere note of appreciation for a fan who gifted her a saree intricately embroidered with her name following her notable role in her debut film, 'Kadhalil Vizhunthen'.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram, Sunaina showcased the saree, stating, "This exquisite saree was gifted to me by a fan years ago, right after the release of Kadhalil Vizhunthen during the filming of Masilamani."
The actress revealed that the fan owned a saree shop and highlighted that the name on the saree was spelled as it is commonly pronounced in Tamizh, with the addition of the letter "e". "I have since lost their contact," she noted.
Addressing the fan in her message, she expressed, "I don’t want to put you in a spot, but if you see this, know that I still cherish this beautiful saree… I was too young at 17-18 to fully appreciate its significance and didn’t express my gratitude adequately, but I’m incredibly thankful. Sending love to you and your family!"
Recently, Sunaina remarked that despite her impactful role in Neerparavai, it did not lead to more opportunities, mentioning that she even lost out on a couple of films afterward.
In response to a fan query, she stated, "Neerparavai, a film I poured my heart into, didn’t bring me more films. Many felt the makeup was not appealing enough for that period, especially with the influx of mass commercial films."
"In fact, I lost two films after its release; it was a strange experience that I might discuss someday… This period created a gap in my career, but it offered me clarity about the industry. I continued to explore different mediums out of excitement for diverse roles. Eventually, I evolved significantly during this time, gaining valuable insights into the world and the industry."
Her candid remarks caught many by surprise, especially since her performance in the film was so compelling that even director Seenu Ramasamy expressed his belief that she deserved a National Award for it.
The film, released in 2012, featured Vishnu Vishal alongside Sunaina, boasted remarkable music by N R Raghunanthan, and was produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
