Chennai, Aug 5 (NationPress) Actress Sunaina, who captivated audiences with her performance in the critically acclaimed Tamil film 'Neerparavai', has recently made a surprising revelation. She stated that the film did not lead to more opportunities for her and, in fact, resulted in her losing out on two projects following its release.
During an interaction with her fans and followers on her X timeline, Sunaina reflected on her journey from debuting in Kaadhalil Vizhunthen to making a cameo in Theri, exploring the web series domain, and eventually returning to leading roles in films.
When asked about her growth, she expressed, "Neerparavai, a project I invested deeply in, didn’t open the doors I hoped for. Many viewed my makeup in the film as not 'cute' enough for that period, especially with the prevalence of mass commercial films.
"In fact, I lost two films after its release. One story is rather peculiar, and I may share it one day... This led to a hiatus in my career. However, it provided me clarity regarding the prevailing mentality. I didn’t stop; I kept exploring different mediums and roles that excited me. Ultimately, this journey led to my evolution. I learned significantly about both the industry and the world during this period.
Her remarks have taken many in the industry by surprise, given her remarkable performance. Even the film’s director, Seenu Ramasamy, publicly stated that he believed she was a strong contender for a National Award due to her work.
The film, directed by National Award winner Seenu Ramasamy, premiered in 2012 and starred Vishnu Vishal alongside Sunaina. It featured exceptional music from N R Raghunanthan and was produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
