Sunainaa Reveals Facial Injury During 'Neerparavai' Shoot
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, March 27 (NationPress) Actress Sunainaa has revealed that she sustained an injury to her face while filming her critically acclaimed movie 'Neerparavai'. The shooting was halted that day, and the same scene was later reshot on another occasion.
The actress recently took to social media to engage with her fans and respond to their questions. When one admirer inquired about a specific scene that required multiple takes, Sunainaa humorously replied, "Well … plenty! Haha. But the final take is what really matters."
She highlighted the experience while working on 'Neerparavai' and shared a particular incident from the set.
Sunainaa recounted, "While shooting for 'Neerparavai', I slipped on the sea moss covering the rocks, causing me to fall slightly on my face and injuring the area around my chin—the lower left side. I still bear a small scar on my face :) We had to do multiple takes for that scene and ultimately shot it on a different day."
She continued, "We canceled the shoot for the day because my ears were ringing. I covered it up with makeup and returned to shoot the next day. I’ll share a picture soon."
For those unfamiliar, Sunainaa, who captivated audiences with her performance in 'Neerparavai', previously made the surprising comment that the film did not yield more roles for her, and she even missed out on a couple of projects following its release.
In response to a follower's question on her evolution from her debut in Kaadhalil Vizhunthen to making a cameo in Theri and exploring web series, eventually landing lead roles again, she stated, "Neerparavai, a project I invested my all into, didn’t result in additional opportunities. Many thought the makeup in the film wasn’t 'cute' enough for that period, especially with mass commercial films being popular."
She remarked, "In fact, I lost two films after its release. One story is particularly strange, which I might share someday… This led to a hiatus in my career. However, it provided me clarity about the mentality surrounding me. I didn’t let that stop me; I continued to explore and embrace diverse roles, which excited me. In the end, I reinvented myself significantly during this time, learning a great deal about the industry and the world around me."
Her comments surprised many in the industry, especially since her performance was so outstanding that even the film's director, Seenu Ramasamy, publicly expressed belief that she could win a National Award for her work.
Now, Sunainaa has shared for the first time that she faced an injury to her face during the making of the film.
