He further stated, “By hosting iconic events like the Sunburn Festival in Mumbai, we are diligently fostering a robust music tourism ecosystem that draws global attention, supports local businesses, and positions our state as a vibrant hub for next-generation cultural experiences.”
The festival is scheduled for December 19, 20, and 21 in Mumbai. This year, it proudly secured the #8 spot on DJ Mag’s esteemed ‘Top 100 Festivals of 2025’.
Karan Singh, the CEO of Sunburn, expressed, “Almost two decades ago, we embarked on a journey with a clear vision: to establish a world-class electronic dance music experience in India. What transpired was the inception of a movement, positioning Sunburn Festival as one of the first to elevate India on the global entertainment stage and cultivate a flourishing music tourism culture.”
Singh acknowledged that Goa has played an essential role in this narrative.
“However, nurturing a legacy also involves evolution. Bringing Sunburn to Mumbai feels like a significant step, invigorating a city that is always in motion. The city’s creative energy and strong connections to youth culture make it the ideal backdrop for what’s ahead,” Singh added.
“With the backing of the Government of Maharashtra, we’re excited to help elevate Mumbai as India’s festival capital, and I eagerly anticipate what we will accomplish together this year.”
Since its inception in 2007, Sunburn has featured legendary artists such as Martin Garrix, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Alan Walker, Armin van Buuren, DJ Snake, Tiësto, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, and Hardwell, making it a premier event for electronic music’s biggest stars.
