Mumbai, Dec 8 (NationPress) Sunny Deol shared heartfelt sentiments about his father, Dharmendra, who would have celebrated his 90th birthday today. He expressed that his father remains a part of him, stating on social media, "Today is my father's birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me. Love you, papa. Miss you. (sic)."
Along with his message, Sunny posted a nostalgic clip of Dharmendra relishing the stunning vistas of the mountains, where he joyfully remarked, "I am really enjoying my son, it's lovely."
Previously, Dharmendra was hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after experiencing breathlessness. After receiving appropriate care, he was discharged on November 12 and resumed his recovery at home.
Following his passing, Dharmendra's final rites were held at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai, attended by numerous Bollywood stars and family members.
His death sent shockwaves throughout the Bollywood community.
During the finale of the reality show "Bigg Boss 19" on Sunday, host Salman Khan, who shared a close bond with Dharmendra, became emotional while reflecting on the legacy of the 'He-Man' of Bollywood.
With tears in his eyes, Salman noted, "Dharmendra passed away on November 24, coinciding with my father Salim Khan’s 90th birthday."
"He was the He-Man of Bollywood, possessing both an innocent face and a robust physique, with a legacy spanning over 60 years," he continued. Salman became even more emotional when he recognized that Dharmendra's birthday falls on December 8, the same day as his mother’s. He also praised the dignified manner in which Dharmendra's funeral was conducted. "I have witnessed two funerals handled with utmost dignity: one was of filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s mother, and the other was Dharamji’s. Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and the entire family conducted the prayer meetings with immense dignity, love, and grace. It was truly a beautiful moment, celebrating his life with such affection," he added.
