Mumbai, Jan 3 (NationPress) Bollywood star Sunny Deol recently participated in the launch of the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from his forthcoming film ‘Border 2’. He revealed that his motivation to do ‘Border’ stemmed from his father, the iconic actor Dharmendra.

During the event in Jaisalmer, Sunny reflected on a significant moment that inspired his career.

He shared with reporters, “I took on the role in ‘Border’ because I was deeply influenced by my father's film ‘Haqeeqat’. I loved it immensely. At that time, I was quite young. When I entered the film industry, I resolved to create a movie that mirrored my father's legacy.”

Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, prompting an outpouring of tributes from the Bollywood community honoring the legendary figure.

Previously, Sunny has voiced his frustration towards the media for relentlessly pursuing his family.

Concerning ‘Border 2’, this film serves as a sequel to ‘Border’, which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India–Pakistan war.

‘Border 2’ seeks to convey that same spirit to a new audience, enhancing both the scale and narrative style. Once again featuring Sunny Deol in the lead role, the sequel aims to preserve the classic gravitas of the original while broadening its scope through modern warfare themes, more developed character arcs, and upgraded technical aspects.

The film's narrative will not only emphasize combat scenes but also explore the emotional toll of duty, the families left behind, ethical dilemmas, and the psychological burdens borne by soldiers long after the fighting ends. It aspires to merge patriotism with compassion, showcasing soldiers not merely as heroic figures, but as individuals shaped by bravery, fear, sacrifice, and camaraderie.

The release date for the film is set for January 23, 2026.
