Sydney Sweeney Responds to Body Shamers

Los Angeles, Dec 14 (NationPress) Actress Sydney Sweeney has responded to individuals who body shamed her. The ‘Euphoria’ actress recently shared a video on her Instagram that showcased numerous screenshots of comments regarding her physique.
One user remarked, “Quite frumpy isn’t she”. Another added, “Nothing to see here other than an average chunky Yankee girl”, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.
Many of these remarks appear to be sourced from a Daily Mail article that highlighted pictures of the actress enjoying the sunshine while wearing a bikini at her home in the Florida Keys.
According to ‘People’, the montage of comments transitions to clips of the ‘Anyone But You’ star engaged in intense training for her role as Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic about the boxer.
Her fitness footage showcases her flipping large tires, lifting weights, boxing, and flaunting her muscular biceps.
“Well, the cat’s out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes, so here’s a little BTS from my film I’m working on right now,” Sweeney posted on Instagram on October 16. “Over the past few months, I’ve been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman—a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring.”
Christy Martin, 56, gained prominence in the '90s, establishing herself as one of America's most accomplished female boxers. She was the first woman inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame in 2016 and also the inaugural female inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2020.
In 1996, she became the first female boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated, with Ronda Rousey being the second and most recent in 2015. Martin retired from professional boxing in 2012 and survived an attempted murder in 2010 when her husband, James V. Martin, stabbed her multiple times and left her for dead. He was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in prison.
