Mumbai, Aug 6 (NationPress) Music composer Tanishk Bagchi has gifted the nation a timeless track with the title song ‘Saiyaara’. The composer has shared insights into his musical inspirations that have molded his artistic journey from a young age.
Tanishk was raised in Kolkata, a city renowned for its diverse cultural and musical heritage. In a recent conversation with IANS, celebrating the success of ‘Saiyaara’, he remarked, “I have been exposed to various genres of music throughout my life. My father was a guitarist, and my mother is also a classical guitarist. This exposure led me to appreciate both Indian classical music and Western classical music, along with rock music.”
He continued, “Coming from Kolkata, where rock bands flourish on every corner, I’ve collaborated with many talented artists from Bangladesh. Bands like Love Runs Blind and Ark are legendary in the Bangladeshi rock scene. My background is a rich tapestry of influences. My experience as a DJ allowed me to explore foreign dance music and folk tunes. There was a Baul band in my neighborhood during my childhood, which further enriched my musical palette.”
“Everything I’ve listened to has contributed to my artistry. I believe that the act of listening is more impactful than formal education. While one can learn through lessons, listening unveils lessons that formal education might miss. This is why I emphasize the importance of listening; it broadens your perspective,” he added.
Previously, the composer indicated that the positive reception of the ‘Saiyaara’ album signals a shift in the Hindi film music landscape. He noted that the industry is continuously evolving, especially with the rapid growth of platforms like Instagram Reels and streaming services, which have left the market searching for what resonates. In this context, it’s evident that audiences continue to yearn for melody and emotion in songs, rather than the mechanical sounds that have emerged.
