Mumbai, June 8 (NationPress) Director Mohit Suri, who is looking forward to the premiere of his new movie ‘Saiyaara’, disclosed that during the song recording, music composer Tanishk Bagchi told him to ‘get out’.
In an interview with IANS, Mohit elaborated on the behind-the-scenes experience with the debutant vocalists from Kashmir, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami.
He mentioned, “The recording and jamming sessions were quite serious while I was present. What happened afterward? I have no idea. They asked me to exit the recording session. That’s when I realized the fun began.”
Mohit reminisced that Tanishk would glance at him during their time in the studio, saying, “Sir, you should leave now.”
“He basically asked me to get out,” Mohit chuckled. “He understood that the singers were trying to impress me rather than fully express themselves. While he was strict with them, it was clear he was also protecting them.”
He added, “Throughout the process, he insisted, ‘No, no, no, sir, let them record in their hometown where they feel comfortable. Otherwise, they might get nervous.’ This was such a thoughtful gesture. He was like a father figure, supporting and shielding them. I’m naturally curious as a director but not overly intrusive, yet Tanishk still asked me to step aside.”
“He is a musical genius. He knows how to achieve the best results. One thing I’m certain of is that creativity in music stems from the idea itself,” he noted.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, ‘Saiyaara’ is scheduled for release in theaters on July 18, 2025.
