Chennai, Jan 15 (NationPress) The production team behind director Arvindh Srinivasan’s Tamil film ‘Tharunam’, starring actors Kishen Das and Smruthi Venkat in lead roles, has decided to postpone the film's release to a later date.
The film, which briefly premiered on Tuesday, will be pulled from theaters and re-released on another date, as the producers noted they could secure only a limited number of screens for audience viewership.
Director Aravindh Srinivasan shared the news on social media, posting a poster that stated, “Due to delays in certification, Tharunam’s release faced limited screens. Thanks to your positive response, we’ve decided to relaunch the film soon on a larger scale! Stay tuned for a new release date!”
‘Tharunam’ is a thrilling movie intertwined with a romantic storyline. While it serves as an entertaining piece, it does not carry a social message but addresses a relevant social issue. The suspense arises from a relationship, as expressed by the director in a prior interview with IANS.
Arvindh explained, “This genre is not new, but my approach to narrating this story within this genre will be quite unique. Imagine leaving home with the aim of solving a problem. If you encounter an accident along the way that complicates matters, which issue will you prioritize? You’ll need to manage both. This story will follow this concept.”
The film features Kishen Das portraying an officer in the Cobra unit of the CRPF, and was filmed over 37 days in the Chennai area. Initially, the Tharunam team intended to shoot in Kashmir, but due to Smruthi Venkat’s sinus condition, that plan was abandoned.
