What’s in Store with Director Ram’s New Film 'Paranthu Po'?

Chennai, June 26 (NationPress) The highly anticipated film ‘Paranthu Po’ directed by Ram has just unveiled its trailer, much to the excitement of fans and cinema enthusiasts. Starring Mirchi Shiva, Anjali, Grace Antony, and young talent Master Mitul Ryan, the trailer showcases a delightful story.

The trailer kicks off with a young boy named Anbu (portrayed by Mitul Ryan), who insists that his parents pledge to remain in their village. When his bewildered parents seek clarification on his meaning of 'village', he describes it as “A place with a hill, a pond, a football field, and friends to enjoy life with.”

Anbu is the essence of mischief—both brutally honest and filled with curiosity—putting his parents through a series of humorous yet challenging queries.

In the trailer, we see Anbu's father, played by Mirchi Shiva, finally taking him for a bike ride, revealing the bond he shares with his own father, played by Balaji Sakthivel. The trailer concludes with a poignant remark from director Ram, stating, “For every parent striving to provide for their children...”

Overall, the impression is that this film is a light-hearted, vibrant musical comedy that centers on a determined schoolboy and his affectionate yet financially struggling father.

In a prior discussion about the film’s lead, Mirchi Shiva, Ram reminisced, “Shiva and I began our journeys in 2007 - he with 'Chennai 28' and I with 'Katrathu Tamil'. Back then, he was at Radio Mirchi interviewing me, and our friendship has flourished since. Our collaboration finally materialized with 'Paranthu Po' in 2024.”

This film marks Ram's inaugural venture into the comedy genre.

“This project signifies my first foray into feel-good comedy, featuring a remarkable ensemble cast. Grace Antony, celebrated for her performances in Malayalam cinema, was my top choice for the role due to her innate comedic talent. Anjali has been incredibly supportive, and Aju Varghese and Vijay Yesudas have significantly contributed during both filming and dubbing, ensuring a seamless process. I am thrilled to introduce Master Mitul Ryan, a promising young actor whose performance will undoubtedly impress viewers. Collaborating with Hotstar has been a fantastic experience, as they embraced my vision and allowed me to maintain the integrity of my script. The entire crew has made this journey enjoyable and smooth,” Ram elaborated.

The film's background score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with music by Santhosh Dhayanithi. The cinematography is handled by NK Ekhambram, while editing is managed by Mathi VS.
