Chennai, June 26 (NationPress) With only 50 days remaining until the debut of director Lokesh Kanakaraj's much-anticipated action thriller 'Coolie', which stars the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film's producers have revealed that its Hindi adaptation will now be known as 'Coolie The Powerhouse'.
On Thursday, Sun Pictures, the studio behind the film, unveiled a fresh poster to emphasize the countdown to its release.
In a post shared on their X handle, Sun Pictures stated, "Deva's rage begins in 50 days! #CoolieIn50Days #Coolie in Hindi is now #CoolieThePowerhouse. #Coolie releasing worldwide August 14th."
Previously, there were reports suggesting that the Hindi version could be titled 'Majdoor', which received mixed reactions from social media users.
However, Sun Pictures confirmed that the official title would be 'Coolie The Powerhouse'.
This action thriller, 'Coolie', will not only feature Rajinikanth but also a stellar cast that includes Nagarjuna from Telugu cinema, Upendra from Kannada, Soubin Shahir from Malayalam, and Sathyaraj from Tamil cinema. Notably, Aamir Khan will appear in a cameo role.
Alongside them, the film will showcase Shruti Haasan, Rebe Monica John, and Junior MGR in significant roles.
Music for this project is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography handled by Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures.
Fans are particularly excited as it marks the reunion of Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after nearly 38 years, having last appeared together in the blockbuster Tamil movie 'Mr. Bharath', released in 1986, where Sathyaraj portrayed Rajinikanth's father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had previously declined roles in several of Rajinikanth's films, including 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'.
'Coolie', which is Rajinikanth's 171st film, is set against the backdrop of gold smuggling. The director, Lokesh Kanakaraj, has clarified that 'Coolie' will stand alone and is not part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
