Chennai, July 5 (NationPress) According to industry speculation, director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s highly anticipated action film 'Coolie', starring the legendary Rajinikanth, is set to captivate audiences in more than 100 countries when it premieres on August 14 this year!
Hamsini Entertainment, a major player in global film distribution, is spearheading the international release of this film. With a remarkable history of distributing over 130 films across various languages, Hamsini Entertainment has established itself as a leader in bringing Indian cinema to worldwide viewers.
Recent projects from Hamsini include the release of The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), featuring Vijay in over 40 countries, and Devara, starring Jr. NTR, in more than 90 countries.
Industry insiders suggest that with 'Coolie', Hamsini Entertainment is preparing for its most expansive release to date, aiming for distribution in over 100 countries, setting the stage for one of the most extensive international rollouts of an Indian film.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie has already made waves by achieving the highest overseas procurement for a Tamil film thus far.
Beyond Rajinikanth, the film features a stellar cast, including renowned names such as Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan.
Anirudh has composed the music for the film, marking his fourth collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan, while editing is by Philomin Raj.
The film is highly anticipated as it marks the reunion of actors Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after nearly 38 years. The duo last shared the screen in the blockbuster Tamil film 'Mr Bharath', released in 1986, where Sathyaraj portrayed Rajinikanth's father. Notably, Sathyaraj had previously declined roles in Rajinikanth's earlier films such as 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'.
'Coolie', which is Rajinikanth’s 171st film, will focus on the theme of gold smuggling. Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanakaraj has confirmed that 'Coolie' will be a standalone project and not part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
