Actor Tusshar Kapoor has expressed excitement about his upcoming collaboration with veteran filmmaker Prakash Jha in the political drama 'Janadesh', marking two significant firsts for the actor — his debut with Jha as a director and his first venture into the political drama genre. Kapoor shared his thoughts on the project while speaking to reporters on the occasion of completing 25 years in the Hindi film industry.

Kapoor described the film as a serious, grounded work rooted in contemporary Indian society. 'It is a very serious and hard-hitting film on the political scenario in our country, but it is a fictional story. It is about how we are as people today. First time I am being directed by Prakash Jha, and it is a very interesting character. It is with newcomers. It is also me doing a political film for the first time. So, it is something I am excited to bring in front of the audience,' he said.

Filming commenced in March 2025 — on Shetty's birthday — with an ensemble that includes Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, and Sharman Joshi.
