Mumbai, Nov 9 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar is poised to evoke a sense of 90s nostalgia during the grand launch of “Indian Idol 16.”

She presented a unique coin to contestant Anshika Chonkar after being touched by her emotional rendition of the hit song “Rangeela Re.” The ‘Kunwara’ actress joined the performers on stage, dancing to her famous track. She shared a personal anecdote from the start of her career, reminiscing, “When my first film premiered and I watched it in theaters, as soon as the song played and the thumkaas began, people showered money. Today, I want to give you a small piece of that moment, a coin from my life, just like the one I received back then. Best of luck, bacha.”

Urmila Matondkar is ready to light up the premiere of “Indian Idol 16,” alongside musical icons Sukhwinder Singh and Kavita Krishnamurthy during this star-studded event.

Last year, she made a guest appearance on the special edition of the singing competition, “Indian Idol 14.” During that visit, she fondly recounted her time filming the 1992 romantic comedy “Chamatkar,” which featured Shah Rukh Khan performing the song Is Pyaar Se Meri Taraf Na Dekho. She praised Khan, calling him not only a remarkable actor but also a genuinely kind person.

Reflecting on the past, Urmila recalled her co-star Shah Rukh Khan and stated, “This song 'Is Pyaar Se Meri Taraf Na Dekho' was performed by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik, and it has its own dedicated following. Piyush, your rendition of the song was beautiful. I remember working with the iconic Shah Rukh, who is not just an incredible actor but also a wonderful human being.”

“He is among the greatest actors, having done theater, and he has always been humble. His presence makes co-actors feel at ease. Those who have collaborated with him and shared the screen are truly fortunate,” she added.
