Mumbai, Nov 9 (NationPress) Renowned television star Urvashi Dholakia responded fiercely to critics doubting her true commitment to stray animal welfare after the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding Indies.
In a heartfelt message, she emphasized that her advocacy for animal rights is driven by genuine compassion, not the desire for online approval. Urvashi also pointed out her family’s ongoing dedication to caring for both dogs and cats, encouraging others to adopt and extend kindness to these voiceless creatures. On Friday, the star from ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ shared several photos with animals while expressing her thoughts in an extensive post.
Urvashi stated, “I will not soften my words or beliefs for this message. To those doubting my authenticity regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling on INDIES (commonly known as STRAYS), here is my response to your negativity! If you had genuinely made an effort to know me or my family (which you clearly haven’t), your negative comments would hold some weight! My family has always shown love and support towards Indies, be it dogs or cats, and we take pride in that! We have always advocated for their adoption, and we will keep doing so!” (sic)
“I don’t follow trends just to gain attention on Instagram, nor do I plan to! I speak out when necessary, and that’s precisely what I’m doing now.”
“Before questioning my intentions, look in the mirror and ask yourselves: What have you done for these voiceless beings? Instead of wasting your time, go do something good. Adopt! Show humanity. The last video features me on set last year, appealing for love. This is for those who talk a lot but act little! I truly wish there were courts in the animal kingdom, so that when we humans invade their homes and disrupt their lives, we would face severe consequences,” she added.
The Supreme Court's recent ruling to relocate all stray dogs in the Delhi-NCR area to shelters has garnered mixed reactions from the public. The court ordered all states and union territories to remove stray dogs from public spaces such as schools and hospitals. Furthermore, they mandated that these animals be sterilized, vaccinated, and transferred to designated shelter facilities.
While some view this as a necessary step for public safety, others argue that it contradicts the principles of animal welfare.
