Chennai, May 13 (NationPress) Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who portrays one of the central roles in the courtroom thriller 'The Verdict', revealed that she had to exert considerable effort to moderate her speaking speed for the film.
During the film's trailer launch event on Tuesday, Varalaxmi stated, “As my primary language for thought is English, I found it somewhat easier to deliver the lines. However, I had to consciously slow down my speech because I'm typically recognized as a fast speaker. Since this is a courtroom drama, I needed to deliberately adjust my pace to align with the film's tone.”
The movie, directed by Krishna Shankar, is produced by Prakash Mohandas and N Gopi Krishnan of Agni Entertainment.
Interestingly, the film was shot extensively in the United States and was completed in just 23 days.
Producer Gopi Krishnan expressed gratitude, saying, “I want to thank Nirmal, Vincent, Irene Vincent, and many others in the USA who provided unwavering support during the shoot. Without their help, finishing the filming in under 23 days would have been unachievable. I’m also excited to introduce Aditya Ram as the music director for this film. His background score is truly exceptional.”
Actress Suhasini Maniratnam, who spoke at the event, commented, “Certain films hold a special place in an actor’s heart, and 'The Verdict' is one such film for me. I am genuinely delighted to participate in this project and work with Gopi Sir. The film's subject captivated me. I often take on roles in remakes if the original featured Lakshmi Ma'am. When I learned this role was initially penned with her in mind, I couldn't pass up the chance and promptly agreed to be a part of it.”
“I had numerous scenes with Shruthi Hariharan, who often requested rehearsals to refine her improvisations. Collaborating with her was a joy. Despite the logistical hurdles during the shoot, the director managed everything with poise and efficiency. It was also a pleasure to have Arvind Krishna as the cinematographer, whose extensive experience added tremendous value to the film,” Suhasini added.
Suhasini also praised Varalaxmi Sarathkumar for delivering a remarkable performance as a lawyer, maintaining authenticity without being swayed by American English.
'The Verdict' boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sruthi Hariharan, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vidyulekha Raman, and Prakash Mohandas. The film, written and directed by Krishna Shankar, features cinematography by Arvind Krishna and editing by Sathish Suriya.
