Mumbai, Jan 21 (NationPress) Actor Varun Dhawan, who is preparing for the premiere of his forthcoming film ‘Border 2’, has recounted his experiences working alongside Punjabi icon Diljit Dosanjh in the project.
During a special event for the movie held on Tuesday, he revealed that he had a habit of singing Diljit’s tracks right in front of the renowned singer. Varun humorously reflected on this, saying, “We played cricket together. We worked out together. We enjoyed ice cream and had a great time with Diljit sir. I would sing his songs to him.”
“I guess it just happens sometimes. When someone is your favorite artist, you find yourself doing such things. Why did I feel the need to sing his songs to him?” he chuckled.
As the release date for ‘Border 2’ approaches, excitement builds. This war film serves as a sequel to J. P. Dutta’s acclaimed 1997 film ‘Border’, which portrayed the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The sequel is officially confirmed and is being developed as a grand patriotic drama, aiming to recapture the essence and military focus that made the original a cultural classic.
Sunny Deol, who portrayed Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri in the initial film, is set to reprise his role, ensuring continuity with the original. Directed by Anurag Singh, known for Kesari (2019), the sequel promises a blend of battlefield authenticity and character-driven narratives.
Production commitments are reportedly a collaboration between J. P. Dutta’s production house and a major studio, suggesting a significantly elevated budget and modern production standards.
