Venkat Prabhu's Thrilling Experience at Ajith Kumar's Race
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, Feb 23 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, who previously collaborated with Ajith Kumar on the blockbuster 'Mankatha', recently visited the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi to witness Ajith Kumar Racing. He has shared a captivating video that captures his thrilling experience of observing the actor participate in a high-speed race up close.
In the now-viral clip, Venkat Prabhu expressed, "I wanted to share a remarkable moment I experienced firsthand. I recently attended a race at the Yas Marina circuit where Ajith sir was competing alongside his team."
The seasoned director elaborated, "I have seen numerous races, including Formula 1 in Singapore, but this was different. Watching someone I know race brought a whole new level of anticipation and anxiety."
He continued, "It was fascinating to observe the teamwork involved. During a pit stop, they efficiently manage tire changes and refueling in just 15 to 17 seconds. Unlike F1 where only tires are swapped, here, drivers also change. The speed at which one driver exits and another enters is incredible, especially since they have to maneuver through the window rather than a door. I was truly in awe watching Ajith sir handle all of this."
Venkat Prabhu admitted, "Sitting inside such a car can be overwhelming; I struggle with claustrophobia. Witnessing Ajith chase his passion was astonishing."
He added, "Filmmaking is tough, but racing is life or death. Cars are zooming at speeds of 220 to 260 km/h, and our hopes are that all drivers emerge unscathed. I even witnessed a significant crash, but thankfully, everyone was alright. Ajith's team was visibly shaken, showing their concern for all competitors despite being rivals."
Commending Ajith Kumar for elevating the sport's profile in India, Venkat Prabhu noted, "Ajith sir emphasized the importance of raising awareness about this thrilling sport. I assured him that interest has surged since he embraced racing. Watching him compete was a breathtaking experience."
The director also shared insights on the post-race analysis conducted by the team, stating, "They spend nearly half a day reviewing what went wrong, engaging in discussions with the drivers to analyze their performance."
Concluding his narrative, Venkat Prabhu mentioned his participation in a pit walk alongside Ajith, meeting all the drivers, including the renowned Narain Karthikeyan. "It was an unforgettable experience," he remarked.
