Vidya Malavade Suffers Calf Muscle Tear Post Performance in Singapore
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 17 (NationPress) Actress Vidya Malavade experienced a tear in her calf muscle following a stage performance in Singapore. In her latest Instagram update, she revealed that after concluding the final dance of her musical, she suddenly felt as if someone had stabbed her in the calf.
Shortly thereafter, she found herself reliant on a wheelchair.
The star of 'Chak De! India' shared a video of herself using crutches on social media.
Describing her experience, she wrote in the caption, "Just 48 hours ago on stage... as I completed the last dance of our musical in Singapore... I felt euphoric until I was struck by a sharp pain in my calf. Next thing I knew, I was in a wheelchair, unable to stand on my own two feet... (sic)"
Despite her unfortunate injury, Vidya expressed her gratitude for being able to finish the entire show before her calf gave out. "What incredible timing! I am unbelievably grateful that I managed to complete the entire performance, filled with high-energy acting and dancing, before my calf gave way!" she noted.
Although she is mostly confined to her home due to her injury, Vidya is determined to enjoy her time in Singapore. "Even though I am on crutches and primarily housebound because I can’t walk for more than 10 minutes, I still want to take full advantage of my time in Singapore as the evenings are so lovely..." she concluded her post.
Vidya also inquired in her post, "How long does it take for a calf muscle tear to heal?" An Instagram user responded, "Healing depends on the severity of the tear and can range from 3 weeks to 3 months. Wishing you a speedy recovery, @vidyamalavade." Another follower commented, "It took me four weeks with a crutch and two months of rest with physiotherapy. Full recovery takes about two years." A third suggestion was, "Perhaps it could take 6 months."
