Chennai, Sep 15 (NationPress) Director Sasi is set to release his highly anticipated film, 'Nooru Saami', starring actor and music composer Vijay Antony, which will delve into the profound emotional connection between a mother and her son!
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, director Sasi confirmed that his upcoming film, following the massive success of the hit 'Pichaikkaran', is inspired by true events.
For those who may not know, director Sasi's previous film, 'Pichaikkaran', featuring Vijay Antony in the lead role, not only became a blockbuster but also achieved cult classic status. The narrative centered on a wealthy businessman who, in an effort to save his mother's life, anonymously begs and lives as a beggar for 48 days due to a vow made to God. This real-life inspired story resonated with audiences not just in Tamil Nadu but across the nation.
Now, Sasi has shared that the narrative of 'Nooru Saami' (Hundred Gods), intriguingly named after a popular song from 'Pichaikkaran', will focus on the bond between a mother and her son, again drawing from real-life situations.
When asked whether 'Nooru Saami' would continue the storyline of 'Pichaikkaran', Sasi clarified that the two narratives are entirely distinct and unrelated.
It is worth noting that director Sasi had publicly announced his collaboration with Vijay Antony during the trailer launch of director Leo John Paul's 'Maargan'.
Sasi reminisced, "In 2006, I directed 'Dishyum'' with Vijay Antony as the music director. In 2016, he starred as the lead in 'Pichaikkaran'. Now, we are reuniting for another project."
He further revealed that this film holds a special place in his heart, featuring two heroic characters.
"While Vijay Antony will portray one of the heroes, Ajay Dhishan, who is Vijay Antony's sister's son, will take on the other. I remember Ajay as a child during the filming of 'Dishyum'. Now, he is a budding hero!"
