Jamnagar, Sep 15 (NationPress) In a dynamic tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) is preparing to host 75 marathons nationwide under the 'NaMo Yuva Run'. This initiative emphasizes two critical themes: De-Addiction and Fit India. One of these exhilarating events is scheduled for Jamnagar on September 21, commencing at 5:00 A.M. from the renowned Lal Bungalow Circle.

This program is part of a larger initiative called ‘Seva Saptah’, which the BJP observes each year to honor the Prime Minister’s birthday on September 17.

The festivities have evolved into a comprehensive ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, running from September 17 to October 2, coinciding with the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

This campaign encompasses various community welfare activities, including cleanliness drives, health check-up camps, blood donation drives, and public awareness programs.

The marathon in Jamnagar is among ten key events taking place in major cities of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, such as Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Surat, Gandhinagar, Valsad, Anand, and Junagadh. Each marathon is anticipated to attract over 10,000 participants, showcasing a significant display of public enthusiasm and civic pride.

The people of Jamnagar take great pride in hosting this event. BJP leader Bina Ben Kothari expressed, “We are honored to organize one of the 75 marathons in tribute to our esteemed Prime Minister. This event is not just a celebration but also a message for fitness, health, and a drug-free India.”

The marathon route will start at Lal Bungalow and will traverse iconic local landmarks including Gurudwara Chowkdi, Dandiya Hanuman, Walkeshwari, Sharu Section Road, and Saat Rasta, looping back to Lal Bungalow—showcasing scenic and symbolic sites throughout this spirited run.

Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel has been designated as the state-level brand ambassador for the marathon in Gujarat. Adding to Jamnagar's local pride, two distinguished young athletes have been appointed as city ambassadors: Jay Rawalia, captain of the Under-19 cricket team, and Jill Makwana, a gold medalist from the Commonwealth Games.

“I am privileged to be part of this noble cause,” stated Rawalia. “Through this marathon, we aspire to motivate the youth to adopt fitness and reject addiction. Let’s run not just for ourselves, but for a healthier India.”

All registered participants will receive official marathon t-shirts, and the BJYM has called upon citizens, youth organizations, social groups, and even military members to join the run and demonstrate their support.

Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, a small town in Gujarat's Mehsana district, PM Modi is the third child among six of Damodardas Modi and Hiraba Modi.

The BJP will host events nationwide during the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’.

As part of this initiative, activities will include blood donation camps, health check-up camps, cleanliness drives, environmental protection campaigns, exhibitions, dialogue programs, distribution of assistive devices to people with disabilities, ‘Modi Vikas Marathon’, sports festivals, and drawing competitions.

Point of View

It is essential to acknowledge the significance of the 'NaMo Yuva Run' as a unifying event that encourages health and wellness among the youth. The initiative reflects the BJP's commitment to social welfare and fitness, resonating with the broader goals of national development and community engagement.
