New Delhi, Sep 7 (NationPress) Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Sunday that from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 to Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2, the nation and the BJP will observe ‘Seva Paksha’ (Service Fortnight), which embodies the Prime Minister’s commitment to service and nation-building.
Mandaviya made these remarks during the launch of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s (BJYM) Namo Yuva Run campaign at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
He stated, “In PM Modi’s 11 years of leadership, he has contributed significantly to our country through his innovative ideas and actions. Our nation is progressing, advancing, and constructing a new India.”
Highlighting recent changes, he mentioned, “Just three days ago, PM Modi simplified the GST, reducing it to mainly 5 percent and 18 percent slabs. This morning, I participated in ‘Sunday on Cycle,’ a fitness initiative that has now expanded to 8,000 locations with over 50 MPs joining in.”
In celebration of the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday, BJYM will conduct Namo Yuva Runs in 75 cities across India. Each event is expected to attract the participation of 10,000-15,000 youth, totaling nearly 1 million young individuals running concurrently — a milestone that BJYM President and MP Tejasvi Surya stated would be recognized as the country’s largest and most participatory run.
The campaign's goal is to promote fitness, de-addiction, and the spirit of Swadeshi.
Moreover, the Indian diaspora will extend this initiative globally by organizing Yuva Runs in 75 international cities, as noted by the Union Minister.
“On his birthday, while the nation wishes to present him with something, PM Modi instead encourages citizens to pledge their commitment to their responsibilities towards the country. The Namo Yuva Run symbolizes our contribution towards his vision,” he remarked.
Actor and fitness advocate Milind Soman, the campaign's brand ambassador, expressed his excitement about the initiative. “I hope more such endeavors are undertaken to empower the youth and enhance fitness,” he stated.
