Mumbai, May 17 (NationPress) Actor Vijay Varma disclosed that he secretly submitted an application to the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) without informing his parents, who were initially not pleased with his decision.
During his appearance on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel, they discussed his new residence and his journey into the film industry.
When Farah inquired if he traveled solo from Hyderabad, the actor responded, "I came on my own. In fact, I ran away from home."
He mentioned having a "great plan" ready prior to leaving home.
"Typically, people flee home and then figure things out. I enrolled in FTII, a film school. I applied there covertly, got accepted, and even gathered funds from friends secretly. Once I secured my seat, I left home for good."
Farah probed about his parents' reaction, to which he replied, "No, it wasn’t good. My father was particularly upset."
He explained that his father is a businessman, but now his parents are quite supportive of his choices.
Vijay also discussed his new abode, revealing that acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee is his neighbor.
"In the first few years, I moved from one place to another. My family hails from Hyderabad. I initially went to Pune for studies before coming to Bombay to pursue acting."
