Chennai, Dec 18 (NationPress) Actor Vikram Prabhu, who stars alongside newcomer L K Akshay Kumar in director Suresh Rajakumari's intense action drama 'Sirai', has revealed that he needed to gain an additional 10 kilograms for his character in the film.
In a conversation with the press, Vikram Prabhu shared that he portrays a policeman with a decade of experience in the force. “I had to add another 10 kgs for this role,” he mentioned, explaining that while he has played police roles before, he feels this character is significantly more mature compared to his previous portrayals.
Vikram Prabhu also mentioned that his first interest in this film was sparked by director Tamizh, who initially contacted him to discuss the storyline. “After we worked on 'Taanakaaran', I found myself receiving numerous cop roles. I questioned whether this was the right choice, but Tamizh assured me that it was a compelling story worth hearing. He narrated the plot for half an hour, and I was hooked,” Vikram recounted.
The film is produced by the renowned producer S S Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studios.
Inspired by real-life events, the story crafted by director Tamizh, acclaimed for 'Taanakaran', is said to stem from his personal experiences.
Director Suresh Rajakumari, who has co-directed with the notable Vetrimaran, has both written and directed this project.
In 'Sirai', Vikram Prabhu takes the lead, with actress Anantha as his counterpart, marking the acting debut of producer SS Lalit Kumar's son, L K Akshay Kumar. Actress Anishma will play alongside Akshay Kumar in the film.
The film features music by the talented Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Madesh Manickam, and editing by the esteemed Philomin Raj. Stunt choreography is by Prabhu, with executive producers Arun K and Manikandan.
Filming took place in various locations, including Chennai, Sivagangai, and Vellore. The movie is set to release in theaters on December 25 of this year.
