Chennai, July 4 (NationPress) Actor Vikram Prabhu, who stars alongside Anushka Shetty in the explosive action entertainer ‘Ghaati’ directed by Jagarlamudi, revealed that he shed more than eight kilograms for his character in the film.
What makes this transformation remarkable is that while Vikram Prabhu was losing weight for 'Ghaati', he was simultaneously gaining weight for another project, 'Love Marriage', directed by Shanmugha Priyan.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS during the success event of 'Love Marriage', Vikram Prabhu shared, "I had concurrent shoots for both films. In 'Love Marriage', I needed a fuller appearance, while in 'Ghaati', I aimed for a lean physique. I successfully dropped over eight kgs while filming 'Ghaati'."
This year, the makers of ‘Ghaati’ unveiled the first look of his character, Desi Raju, coinciding with his birthday celebration.
Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under UV Creations, ‘Ghaati’ marks the second collaboration between Anushka and Krish, following the success of their blockbuster ‘Vedam’.
Interestingly, this film will be Anushka's fourth project with UV Creations.
A teaser released previously showcased Vikram Prabhu being pursued by police through rugged landscapes and dense forests, leading to thrilling action sequences against formidable foes. The action culminates in a lighter moment where Vikram and Anushka share a poignant, yet subtle scene as they ride their bikes together, exchanging smiles.
The tagline "Victim, Criminal, Legend" encapsulates the film’s intriguing narrative, delving into the complex interplay of good and evil, survival, and morality.
‘Ghaati’ is anticipated to be a deep exploration into the darker aspects of human nature, where characters face their pasts, make tough choices, and seek redemption.
The film will feature cinematography by Manojh Reddy Katasani and a score by Nagavelli Vidya Sagar. The art direction is handled by National Award winner Thota Tharrani, with editing by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu.
With sharp dialogues penned by Sai Madhav Burra, the movie pledges to captivate viewers with its compelling storytelling.
‘Ghaati’ will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, set for a grand premiere on April 18 this year.
