Is Ghaati, Starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu, Cleared for Release by the Censor Board?

Chennai, Aug 30 (NationPress) The Central Board of Film Certification has granted approval for the highly anticipated action thriller 'Ghaati', directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, featuring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu in pivotal roles, with a U/A certificate for its release.

The film has generated significant excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts, and a recently released trailer has further heightened anticipation.

The trailer showcases Vikram Prabhu and Anushka Shetty as a loving couple living in the ghats. The impoverished local community, known as ghaatis, are exploited by smugglers to transport ganja across perilous terrains to various locations. It is clear that smugglers view the ghaatis with contempt, instructing them to limit their roles to merely aiding in smuggling, as engaging in business is deemed beneath them. The trailer hints that while Vikram Prabhu is involved in a medical setting, Anushka initially serves as a bus conductor. However, they eventually marry and seek to bring justice to the oppressed ghaatis mistreated by smugglers.

The film's release was initially slated for July 11 this year but has now been rescheduled for September 5.

Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi, ‘Ghaati’ marks the second collaboration between Anushka Shetty and director Krish, following the success of their blockbuster ‘Vedam’.

Interestingly, this film will be Anushka’s fourth project with UV Creations.

The makers have confirmed that Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu portrays the character Desi Raju in the film.

In an interview with IANS, Vikram Prabhu revealed that he lost eight kilos for his role.

The tagline “Victim, Criminal, Legend” encapsulates the film’s distinct narrative, exploring the nuances of good and evil, survival, and morality.

‘Ghaati’ is set to be an intense exploration of the darker aspects of human nature, as characters face their histories, make challenging decisions, and ultimately strive for redemption.

Sources indicate that cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani has vividly captured the world of ‘Ghaati’ with his stunning visuals, while Nagavelli Vidya Sagar’s music enhances the film's intense atmosphere.

Art direction is by National Award winner Thota Tharani, with editing handled by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N Swamy. Sharp dialogues penned by Sai Madhav Burra promise to engage audiences through compelling storytelling.
