The film has sparked considerable excitement among fans and cinephiles alike, with a recently released trailer further intensifying the anticipation.
The trailer depicts Vikram Prabhu and Anushka Shetty as a couple in love, living in the ghats. The impoverished local populace, known as ghaatis, are exploited by smugglers for transporting ganja from perilous terrains across borders. The smugglers exhibit disdain towards the ghaatis, often belittling them. The trailer indicates that while Vikram Prabhu seems to work in a medical facility, Anushka initially serves as a bus conductor. However, after their marriage in the film, they aspire to bring justice to the oppressed ghaatis.
Originally scheduled for release on July 11 this year, the film's debut is now set for September 5.
Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi and presented by UV Creations, 'Ghaati' marks the second collaboration between Anushka Shetty and director Krish, following their successful project 'Vedam'.
Notably, this film represents Anushka's fourth venture with UV Creations.
The filmmakers have confirmed that Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu portrays the character Desi Raju.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Vikram Prabhu revealed that he shed eight kilos for his role in this film.
Sources indicate that cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani has vividly captured the world of 'Ghaati' through stunning visuals, while Nagavelli Vidya Sagar's music enhances the film's intense atmosphere.
The art direction is led by National Award winner Thota Tharani, with editing by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N Swamy. Sai Madhav Burra has crafted sharp dialogues that are expected to resonate with audiences through its compelling narrative.
