When Children on the Street Yelled 'Hey, Donut Lord' at James Marsden

Mumbai, Dec 30 (NationPress) Actor James Marsden, celebrated for films like The Notebook, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, recently shared a captivating story about children calling him by his character Donut Lord from Sonic the Hedgehog.
The actor portrayed Tom Wachowski in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, often being referred to as Donut Lord due to his amusing habit of conversing with donuts as he embarks on adventures with his wife, Maddie, a caring veterinarian.
Reflecting on his role and the profound affection he receives from fans, James Marsden stated, “I genuinely never expected how widely cherished these films would become, or this degree of success and adoration from the audience. I thought the name Donut Lord (Sonic’s nickname for Tom) was merely going to be a light-hearted moment in the first film.”
He continued, “But now, as I stroll down the street, kids frequently shout, ‘Hey, Donut Lord!’ much like after X-Men when people recognized me as Cyclops. It’s astonishing. I believe we all underestimated the magnitude of this phenomenon. Nothing brings me more joy than witnessing the impact these films have. They are extraordinary because they offer something for both children and adults. There’s genuine heart in them, and it’s all so brilliantly balanced by director Jeff Fowler, resulting in an ever-growing enthusiasm. We are thrilled to be creating something that resonates so deeply with audiences.”
Previously, Idris Elba, who lends his voice to Knuckles in the forthcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 3, expressed that he has finally mastered the pronunciation of ‘Echidna’ in the movie.
He remarked, “It feels fantastic to return to the classic Knuckles fists, as they are. He’s a remarkable character. I enjoy portraying him. There may be other actors who will take on Knuckles in the future, but for now, it’s my responsibility, and I cherish that because he is such an iconic figure.”
The movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on January 3, 2025, in both 2D and 4Dx.
