Mumbai, Feb 28 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Yami Gautam has recently shared her aspirations for her film 'Article 370' to make a comeback in theatres. Initially, the film had a restricted release, and during that time, Yami was expecting her baby, which prevented her from experiencing the film with a live audience. Now, she reveals her reasons for wanting fans to watch the film on the big screen and why it is particularly significant to her.
In a conversation with IANS regarding the films she wishes to see re-released in theatres, Yami expressed, “That’s a question for the audience! Personally, I would love to see Uri or Vicky Donor on the big screen again. Also, Bala, A Thursday, and Article 370—especially Article 370 because I missed the chance to watch it with an audience. I was expecting my baby at the time, so experiencing that film in a theater setting is something I truly desire. I realize I’ve mentioned multiple films, but every one of them has a unique reason behind it.”
Article 370, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, focuses on Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which provided special autonomous status to the region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar, the film features a cast that includes Priyamani, Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar. It was released globally on February 23, 2024.
Further discussing her script selection process, Yami highlighted the necessity of feeling a personal connection to the story.
She commented, “I trust my instincts. I consciously avoid becoming too comfortable with my past roles or what I view as my strengths. I don’t overanalyze. The initial emotion I experience after reading a script—whether it excites or challenges me—guides my choice. I aim to be as versatile as possible while remaining true to my decisions. There’s always a careful effort behind making something seem effortless. It involves consistently working towards a goal and embracing roles that stretch my limits.”
