This marks the second consecutive year that the dental college has been honored by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The dental college secured recognition as the Best Performing Dental College this year for its dedication to promoting dental health and raising awareness about the perils of tobacco consumption.

Patients have reported that the dental facility not only utilizes advanced equipment for dental treatments but also prioritizes education on the dangers of tobacco and cigarette dependence.

“Having received treatment here for four months, I've noticeably cut back on my tobacco habits as I've grown more aware of the risks of severe illnesses like cancer. I trust that I will receive high-quality care here,” shared one patient.

The hospital features a dedicated center aimed at informing patients about the adverse effects of tobacco use, along with providing counseling services.

Beyond treating patients at the hospital, the dental college's team of doctors actively visits nearby districts, Anganwadi centers, and educational institutions to perform dental check-ups and inform the community about the detrimental effects of tobacco.

Additionally, they engage in community education regarding oral health through street performances and awareness rallies. These initiatives have established the Government Dental College and Hospital, Jamnagar, as a nationally recognized institution.

Importantly, this state-run hospital conducts various programs to enhance awareness about oral and dental health, including lectures, street plays, rallies, essay and painting contests, along with dental diagnosis camps. The special campaigns and initiatives organized by the hospital to promote awareness through performances and other activities received noteworthy recognition during the awards ceremony.
