Delhi CM Rekha Gupta visits LNJP Hospital on International Nurses' Day
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday, 12 May conducted a surprise inspection of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital in New Delhi, coinciding with International Nurses' Day. The unannounced visit saw the Chief Minister tour multiple wards, meet nursing staff, and publicly acknowledge the pivotal role caregivers play in Delhi's healthcare system.
CM's Interaction with Nursing Staff
Gupta spent time speaking with nurses in what officials described as an informal and heartfelt manner, listening to their on-ground experiences and acknowledging the daily challenges of their profession. As a gesture of appreciation, she presented flowers to the nursing staff — an act that left several of them visibly emotional, according to an official statement.
Many nurses took the opportunity to click selfies with the Chief Minister and described the interaction as among the most memorable moments of their careers. Gupta also interacted with nursing professionals who had relocated to Delhi from Kerala, Rajasthan, and Punjab, noting that healthcare workers from across the country have been instrumental in raising the capital's healthcare standards.
